Hi, I'm Misael Marroquin!
I’m a documentary photographer focused on preserving everyday life as it unfolds. Through Before It Changes, I capture ordinary places and quiet moments — streets, neighborhoods, storefronts, and community scenes — exactly as they are, without staging or polish. This long-term project exists to create a visual record of the present. Over time, places transform. Businesses close. Buildings change. Traditions evolve. What feels ordinary today often becomes meaningful in hindsight. Just as photographs from decades past now serve as unintentional history, these images are meant to preserve the details we might otherwise overlook — the way communities look, move, and live right now. Nothing staged. Nothing manufactured. Just real life, documented before it changes.
