As Buckeye continues to grow at a rapid pace, pieces of its past can still be found along the old Highway 80 corridor. Older gas stations, businesses, and roadside landmarks remain as reminders of a time before the city’s recent expansion. These familiar places help preserve Buckeye’s history while standing alongside the new development that continues to reshape the community.
June, 2026. Desert Hot Springs is a small town in Southern California where I spent most of my life. Over the years, I have seen many changes. Some buildings are still standing but now house different businesses, while others have remained the same for as long as I can remember. Walking through town brings back memories of how things used to be and how the community has evolved over time. These photographs capture just a few of the places that tell the story of Desert Hot Springs and the changes I have witnessed throughout the years.
